the wydr we are weaving

Dear Gentle Reader,

Welcome to the Metaphysical Haberdashery, a curious little collection of threads, notions, oddments, and things gathered along the way. Some are very old. Some are decidedly modern. Some have been carried home from faraway places, and others appeared simply because someone asked an interesting question.

Among them is the ancient idea of Wyrd: that all of creation is a great weaving, and we are both threads within it and participants in its making.

Here we’ll explore Practical Magic and the old traditions that still have something to teach us. We’ll experiment with The Sight, using imagination, intuition, cards, symbols, and other ways of seeing beyond the obvious. And in The Marked Word, we’ll follow my particular fascination with language and magic, from runes and Ogham to sigils, inscriptions, and the curious power of making meaning into marks.

Along the way, we’ll open the occasional peculiar drawer, wander down unexpected corridors, and follow connections between things that, at first glance, may not seem connected at all.

Have a look around. Pick things up. Turn them over. Pull on a thread and see where it leads.

There is always something curious tucked away on another shelf.

there are old ways of knowing,
and new ways of questioning,
and some things are discovered only
when we cross the edges of the familiar.

Where the Wyrdos gather.

A haberdashery isn’t only a place to browse. There’s a little table in the corner where the Wyrdos gather.

Come join us in our Facebook group for curious conversations, strange discoveries, practical magic, unexpected threads, and whatever else has wandered through the door this week.

there are places where the veil grows thin,
where stone remembers, roots listen,
and the wind carries more than weather.

I’ve spent much of my life wandering down curious roads, gathering old traditions, folk magic, strange stories, ancient symbols, and Wyrd things along the way. Come find out a little more about me, the places I’ve wandered, and some of the peculiar oddments I’ve brought home with me.

come walk between worlds…
where ancient voices travel on the wind,
where old magic waits in stone, forest, and flame,
where Wyrd weaves the mysteries of mind and matter,
and the unexpected slips quietly through open doors.

If you’d like the weavings as I write them — old ways, folk magic, curious experiments, and peculiar oddments gathered along the way — they can arrive softly in your inbox like wind whispering between the stones.

And from time to time, I’ll tuck in a little something I’ve found along the way.

(No algorithms. Just magic.)

The ordinary world is rarely as ordinary as it seems.
